Publicly funded work represents a large portion of our market share. Unscrupulous contractors commonly ignore wage laws to cut costs and outbid fair contractors. GNY LECET carefully monitors the progress of publicly funded work to insure that all required laws and regulations are followed. From attending pre-bid meetings, to regular jobsite visits, GNY LECET staff is present to make sure that workers know of their rights and that contractors are being fair and responsible. When necessary GNY LECET will work to see that corrupt contractors are debarred from working on publicly funded projects and in some case subjected to criminal charges. Protecting and promoting fair, responsible contractors remains Greater New York LECET’s primary goal.
